Two things we do like about going green is about caring for the environment, being stewards and especially being able to save energy. A green home uses less energy, water and natural resources, creates less waste and is healthier for the people living inside compared to a standard home.
In building our home, we would want to be able to spend our money much on the quality of work that will be done, don’t you think? And by going green means not just getting the quality that you want but also the less cost that you will pay because of using eco-friendly tools and equipment’s for your home.
There are three things in which you should consider first before buying your home location property. First, you should avoid building west facing home. This helps minimize sun exposure as well as keeps your home cool. Second, avoid building your home in areas that are prone to hurricanes, earthquakes and flood. Third, check if public transportation is easily available.

A smaller home especially built with eco-friendly techniques is going to have smaller amount of environmental impact.
3. Energy Efficient Equipment’s
Use ENERGY STAR label on equipment’s as they offer significant cost as well as energy saving without compromising performance. Use LED and CFL lighting as they use less energy but lasts longer than traditional incandescent bulbs.
4. Proper Insulation
Proper insulation reduces your electricity bills as well as reduces your energy consumption.
5. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
These 3 R’s helps decrease the amount of waste on the planet and preserve natural resources by maintaining space and cutting down on landfills. They also reduce consumption of new materials and save energy.
6. Install Solar Panels
Solar Panels are expensive but in a long term, it can help you save quite a lot. It can help you bring down your energy consumption and supply excess energy to your home.
7. Rainwater Harvesting Systems and Tankless Heaters
Collect rainwater from roofs and store it in a tank. The collected waters can be used for many purposes. It can also help you save up your water consumption.
Tankless water heaters heats only that much water that is needed as it is passed through electric coil. You also need not to wait for the water to get heated.
